We assisted our clients in the home design for the renovation of their 100+ year old Queenslander style home in one of Brisbane’s traditional suburbs.
The house and yard had deteriorated over it’s lifetime (see ‘before’ photos)  The home needed significant design input to enable it to cater for a growing family.
The architectural services for project included a number of challenges.  The approvals process was complex given the age of the house, it’s condition, and boundary setbacks.  As part of our services, we helped the client to navigate through these approvals.
Our design also considered the idea of staging the works.  This allowed the owners to manage the pace of the project to suit their own budget, and needs.  The original features of the Queenslander house remain the focus (coloured glass, pressed metal ceilings, vj’s and verandahs)

    Kind words from our clients:

“…Peter’s standout attributes are patience, reliability, creativity and ability to insightfully listen.

We engaged Peter to help us renovate a federation house, which is approximately 110 years old. Our desire was to improve the liveability of the property while not compromising its character. We also needed a plan that could be staggered over multiple stages to manage our budget. Obviously this was an extremely challenging project.

Peter was very flexible and patient in preparing many concepts and plans so we could explore several different options. He provided many great ideas but also responded positively to our input. Very significant, he showed amazing skill, diplomacy and professionalism to gain council approval for our plans, which others had suggested was not possible. He liaised with council during a long arduous process, providing many extra sketches and documentation to finalise the approval.

We unreservedly recommend Peter. He is a pleasure to work with and will enhance your dream without imposing on it. We were very lucky to find him because we love the result.

    Sincerely,

    Chris and Kathy…”
